Reduced Liability Exposure
The main reasons for limiting liability are to increase communication, foster creativity, and reduce excessive contingencies. Information sharing and collaboration heighten peoples’ enjoyment of work and consequently their intrinsic motivation. Unfortunately, freely exchanging information can sometimes lead to greater liability.
Liability waivers remove this concern, support creativity and limit the fear of failure. In a creative project, there must always be a “safety net” below people who make suggestions. A climate of fear is not conducive to creativity and undermines motivation – taking this away can be an incredible benefit to overall project success.
