About the PRIMED Mosaic Centre
The PRIMED Mosaic Centre, is the earth’s northernmost net-zero energy commercial building. Envisioned and pioneered by Christy Benoit and Dennis Cuku, designed by Manasc Isaac and built by Chandos Construction, the Centre opened in the Edmonton neigbourhood of Summerside in February 2015. In August of 2017, Christy and Dennis sold the building to Edmonton-based, global medical product manufacturer, priMED Medical Products; and today, the Centre is home to PRIMED Medical Products, Workshop Eatery, and Seeds and Sprouts Daycare.
Powered by an array of over 213 kW photovoltaic (PV) panels, and heated/cooled by 32 geothermal wells, the PRIMED Mosaic Centre is one of the most environmentally-conscious buildings in Canada. It has achieved LEED Platinum Certification, the highest possible level of recognition for environmental stewardship on a construction project. The building is also a bright, fresh-air, positive energy environment designed to help building occupants feel happy and inspired at work.
